Reformer: choose your level
Reformer classes are available at both studios, with levels to help you choose a suitable starting point. In Level 1, you’ll get familiar with the reformer and work on breathing, control and technique. No previous experience is needed.
Mixed Level also welcomes beginners, alongside more experienced clients. Your instructor offers variations and progressions. Level 2 calls for previous Reformer experience, whether you have been attending Level 1 regularly or have equivalent experience from elsewhere.
Level 3 is coming soon and is not currently running. It will be for clients with strong Reformer experience and confidence at Level 2. Check the live timetable for the classes that are available now.
Tower: springs, straps and bars
Tower classes take place at Ebrington. The class uses a stationary Pilates bed with a vertical frame attached to the reformer. Springs, straps and bars are used for strengthening, stretching, mobility and core work.
Tower welcomes all experience levels, including beginners. You don’t need to work through the Reformer levels first to consider a Tower class. If you’re deciding between them, Katrina can help you choose.
Jumpboard: controlled jumping
Reformer Jumpboard is offered at both Ebrington and Coleraine. Controlled jumping adds a cardiovascular element alongside strength and coordination work. Previous Reformer experience is recommended.
If you’re completely new to Pilates, Level 1 or Mixed Level is a clear place to start. Speak to Katrina before choosing Jumpboard if you’re unsure whether it suits your experience.
Pregnant or returning after birth?
Please speak to Katrina before booking. At Platform Pilates, Tower and Reformer Jumpboard are not available from 16 weeks of pregnancy. This is a studio class restriction, not a statement that every class is suitable before that point. Follow advice from your midwife, GP or other healthcare professional and discuss any adjustments with your instructor.
Same class length, live availability
All of these classes last 50 minutes. Ebrington has space for up to ten people and Coleraine for up to nine. The live LegitFit timetable shows which classes are running and the places available.
Passes cover suitable classes at the studio they were purchased for, subject to availability. Choose your studio before buying a pass or booking. Full pass conditions and expiry information are shown in LegitFit.
