Getting started

Your first Reformer Pilates class

Booking your first class brings a few practical questions: which level, which studio and what goes in your bag? Here’s what you need for a first visit to Platform Pilates.

Start with a beginner-friendly class

Level 1 and Mixed Level welcome beginners at both studios. You don’t need previous Pilates experience for either. Level 1 introduces the fundamentals, including breathing, control and technique. Mixed Level brings people with different levels of experience together, with variations and progressions from your instructor.

Level 2 is for people with previous Reformer experience. If you have practised elsewhere or you’re returning after a break, contact Katrina if you’re unsure where to begin.

Choose the studio that suits you

Our Ebrington studio is at The Ebrington Centre on Glendermott Road, Derry/Londonderry. Classes have up to ten people. In Coleraine, you’ll find us at 32f New Row, with up to nine people per class.

Both studios offer Reformer Pilates and Jumpboard. Tower classes are at Ebrington and also welcome beginners. Passes are studio-specific, so choose your location before you buy. An Ebrington pass cannot be used in Coleraine, or the other way round.

A few things to bring

Katrina’s first-class checklist is short. Grip socks are available to buy in the studio if you need a pair.

  • Comfortable gym wear
  • Water
  • Grip socks
  • A hair tie

Check the live timetable

Classes last 50 minutes. Both studios run classes seven days a week, with the actual times and available places shown in LegitFit. Choose your studio on our booking page, then open its live timetable.

The introductory offer is three classes for £30, available to new and existing clients as a one-time purchase. Check the chosen pass in LegitFit for its expiry and full terms before paying. If you already have a pass, sign in to your studio’s LegitFit account to use your available credits.

Ask before you book

For access requirements or any practical questions about your first visit, contact Katrina on 07565 106434. If you’re pregnant, returning after birth or need to discuss health information, call to arrange a conversation about a suitable class.

Cancel at least 24 hours before your class through LegitFit to get your class credit back. If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, you lose that class credit. For the full pass conditions, check the booking information before you purchase.
